Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language
BEST MOTION PICTURE, FOREIGN LANGUAGE
LEE ISAAC CHUNG
I want to thank the HFPA. I want to thank my team at CAA, Relevant, all the United family. I want to thank the actors: Steven, Yeri, YJ, Alan, Noel, Will Patton [sp], and all the creative team: Christina, Lachlan, Emile, Harry, Yung Yuk^, A24, Plan B, all the Chung cousins who are watching, my Mom and Dad, my sister, my wife, who is hiding over there. And this one here, she’s the reason I made this film. And I just want to say that “Minari” is about a family. It’s a family trying to learn how to speak a language of its own. It goes deeper than any American language and any foreign language. It’s a language of the heart, and I’m trying to learn it myself and to pass it on. I hope we’ll all learn how to speak this language of love to each other, especially this year. God bless you all, and thank you.
