Mason Farmani
Mason Farmani is the CEO and Managing Partner of Barkley Court Reporters (BCR). He joined BCR in 1986 and led the company into the new era of deposition technology by quickly embracing cutting-edge expertise and establishing strong alliances with key legal-service and product providers. His visions greatly contributed to Barkley's leadership and outstanding service in the profession.
He studied Industrial Psychology at UCLA and UC Irvine and clearly recognized the need to investigate and incorporate technologies as an integral part of market capture within the legal community, which increasingly has required more than traditional deposition services. He is responsible for strategic planning and direction, firm acquisition, operations, resource management, and client services. Through his leadership, Barkley Court Reporters became the first and only Government Certified Green Court Reporting Firm in the United States. He has made several presentations on "Greening Your Business" at national meetings for several organizations including National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), Society for the Technical Advancement of Court Reporting (STAR) and National Network of Reporting Companies (NNRC) in order to inspire the profession to be more environmentally responsible and to specifically encourage their clients to order paperless transcripts.
His personal commitment to our industry is demonstrated by his hard work and dedication as board member, vice-president and president of STAR and chair of the Technology and Standard Committee and a board member for National Network of Reporting Companies (NNRC). He has provided numerous interviews and articles for Adobe Systems success stories, California's Daily Journal, Law.com, Journal of Court Reporting, LawCommerce.com, 670 AM and Century City News. Additionally, he has been instrumental in providing his expertise and time within non-traditional markets to educate and provide BCR's services to such diverse industries as entertainment, at the Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Television Critics Association, and Marketing Brain Storming sessions for major networks.
Mason Farmani's more than 30 years of experience in the field of court reporting speak to his valuable contributions to the profession.
